Hard to spell, fun to say, and delicious to eat! Tzatziki sauce is a creamy, savory Mediterranean and Middle Eastern dip traditionally made with yogurt and served with veggies, pita bread, and falafel. For a vegan twist on this tasty dip, I used a package of Plant Perks Dill Havarti Cheeze Spread and the results were fantastic!
If you’re familiar with our recipes, you know how much I love pairing our Dill Havarti Cheeze Spread with cucumber. The flavors complement one another so well. So, making vegan tzatziki sauce, where cucumber plays a starring role, was a no-brainer. I simply combined some soft tofu, Dill Havarti Cheeze Spread, cucumber, garlic, lemon, salt and pepper in my blender and ran it for about a minute. More dill (duh!) or mint would be a fabulous addition for extra fresh flavor.
This vegan tzatziki sauce is such a versatile dip to keep in the fridge. Serve it with some sliced celery, carrot, and bell pepper for a healthy snack. It’s a great way to help your kiddos eat more veggies! I’ll also use it as a creamy salad dressing or over baked falafel for dinner. I imagine it pairs well with grilled vegetables, too. The possibilities are endless, especially as we sail into summer when vegetables fill our plates.
Not a fan of tofu? I hear you. But, you honestly can’t taste it at all once it’s blended up with the other powerful flavors in this vegan tzatziki sauce. If you still can’t bring yourself to eat tofu, or if you avoid soy in your diet, you can try swapping it for plain non-dairy yogurt. Vegan Tomato Soup with Pesto Grilled Cheese Sandwich Recipe
- ½ cup soft tofu, drained and pressed
- 1 package Plant Perks Dill Havarti Cheeze Spread
- ½ cup cucumber, chopped
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- ½ lemon, juiced
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- Few twists of black pepper
- Swirl of olive oil, for garnish
- Fresh dill, for garnish
- Combine all of the ingredients in a food processor and blend until smooth.
- Scoop into a bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Garnish with a few sprigs of fresh dill.
- Serve with veggies, crackers, pita bread, or falafel.
